When we think about seaside holidays, often we associate them with days spent on the beach and lovely idleness beneath the sun umbrella.
However, if you would prefer to add some outdoors activity to your stay, the Gabicce area, nestled between the sea and the hills, offers tonnes of opportunities for indulging in some hobbies!
Gabicce Mare is the starting point for many stunning trails for cycling enthusiasts!
The hinterland with its hills, medieval villages and San Bartolo Natural Park will offer lovely itineraries with different levels of difficulty, which can be done by both beginners and expert cyclists.
In addition to the many dedicated services for cyclists and the numerous events dedicated to the Mezzo and Granfondo cycling races that can be found around here, we would also like to give you some advice for your excursions on mountain bikes or racing bikes:
San Bartolo Park is ready and waiting to provide all you walking and hiking enthusiasts with picturesque routes in the middle of the forest or overlooking the sea, allowing you to get to know this area and fully appreciate its characteristics.
During your stay at our 3-star hotel, we recommend exploring the area between Gabicce and Pesaro with a few trails that have been signposted by the Park Authority:
Departure from S. Ermete Church – SS. Trinità Church – Gabicce Monte
A short Nordic Walking route that is almost entirely shaded by vegetation. Here ancient oaks and elms come together to outline the border of the church property, as well as elder trees, rushes and black locust plants, which are typical to Monte San Bartolo.
Departure from Case Badioli
You will be able to take in the magnificent view of Monte San Bartolo while walking along this trail, which plunges down to the Adriatic Sea. Once you have gotten to the top of the trail, it begins to descend towards Vallugola Bay, which can be reached via a dirt road that is surrounded by forests.
Departure from Colombarone – Adriatic State Road
This path is ideal if you want to add historical and archaeological findings to your walk amongst nature. In fact, it is believed that this itinerary traces the ancient street that led to a late Roman villa from the 4th/5th century A.D. Once you have reached the panoramic pitch, you can decide whether to descend the same way you came up, or to cross through the medieval village of Casteldimezzo, which is about a 20-minute walk.
There is no denying that the Romagna hills are the birthplace of motorcycle racing. Here you can race around all the tarmacked and untarmacked trails which saw champions of the likes of Valentino Rossi, Andrea Dovizioso and the unforgettable Marco Simoncelli make their first moves in the sport.
Not only can you enjoy the fantastic panoramas offered by the 25km of the scenic route that connects Gabicce with Pesaro, you will also find the Misano World Circuit just 10 minutes by motorbike from Hotel Nobel. Here you can take in breath taking races and whiz around on your beautiful bike!
Golf lovers will also find an important reference point in Gabicce where they can let their passion have free reign!
